Michael Zadorozhny, MASPP

Mental Performance Coach, Founder

I've been a student of the mental game for 20 years now. I started with martial arts philosophy, self help books, meditation, and then I just fell in love with personal development.

As someone whose family came to the US as refugees, whose parents divorced, and who was kidnapped as a child, I’ve known my fair share of how important it is to train the mental.

If you’d like to know the story, I’m happy to share it. But when it comes to sports, my parents didn't know a whole lot. So, I learned from my brothers, friends, and by following my interests.

When I was younger, I skateboarded in the parking lot of the apartments I grew up in. I played tennis, basketball, and rode bikes at the park. I played football in high school, and got into soccer and ultimate frisbee as a young adult. Then, I got into ballroom dancing, skiing, and backpacking.

It was a lot of exploring and figuring stuff out.

And I didn't know what I wanted to study in college at first. I was stuck between communication studies (because I wanted to be a better communicator) and psychology (because learning about the mind is cool). So, I took the long way until I found sport psychology. After that, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I have an MA in Sport and Performance Psychology and a BA in Integrative Psychology from National University and hold numerous certificates in hypnosis from the IAPCH (International Association of Professional Conversational Hypnotists).

Before working as a mental performance coach, I was a ballroom dance instructor, a wildland firefighter (responded to the 2018 Camp Fire), and a restorative practice facilitator at Tucson Unified School District. I've also worked in a variety of customer service and community-oriented roles.

A few fun accomplishments include backpacking on the Pacific Crest Trail through Washington and Oregon (almost 1000 miles, it took about 2.5 months) and teaching myself how to ski backwards.

I bring my unique perspectives to our sessions and look forward to supporting you as you pursue your goals!
